David is a self-professed aviation-nut. He has been
involved in aviation research for over 30 years and specializes in designations
and their systems. His major aircraft interests are anything, although
primarily military from 1935 to present day. A professional photographer &
author – among many other things – his hobbies involve
photographing airplanes, and has a comprehensive collection of aircraft from
around the world. He also has a fondness for not-too-pretty aircraft, which
explains his love of the Grumman TBM Avenger and Short Sunderland –
although “pretty” airplanes like the Spitfire and F-16 Fighting
Falcon are also his favourites, too.
David lives in Markham, Ontario, Canada with his wife, son and daughter. He is
a past director and editor of the Toronto chapter of the Canadian Aviation
Historical Society and past editor of the National CAHS. He is also a member of
AAHS and United States Naval Institute.
